The Civil Service Exam for Professional and Sub-professional Paper-and-Pencil Test (CSE PPT) is a test given for public service service aspirants to test their readiness and competitiveness.
Every twice a year the Civil Service Commission (CSC) administers the Civil Service Exam in various testing centers nationwide. The CS exam usually falls in the month of May and October.
The examinations are open to individuals, regardless of educational attainment, who are Filipino citizens including those holding dual citizenship, at least 18 years old at the time of filing of application, and have not taken the same level of examination within three months before the date of examination.
Scope of Examination:
As general ability tests, the three-hour with 170 items professional level examination covers vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic and numerical reasoning.
The sub-professional exam, which lasts for two and a half hours, covers the same subject areas except analogy and logic, and also includes questions on spelling and clerical operations.
Examinees should also review on general information questions about the Philippine Constitution, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (Republic Act 6713), peace and human rights issues and concepts and environment management and protection.
The passing rate is 80.
